PROPERTIES
SimpleBAU CONCRETE CONTACT – CONCRETE PRIMER is a very strongly adhesive primer for demanding surfaces. It is produced on the basis of a styrene-acrylate dispersion with quartz additive. Thanks to the quartz additive, it significantly increases the adhesion of other layers such as tile adhesive, screed, plaster.
SimpleBAU CONCRETE CONTACT reduces and balances the absorbency of the substrate, forming a strongly adhesive layer. The optimal selection of the aggregate grain size and the ratio of aggregate and resin allows the product to be applied excellently to the substrate, forming an even and rough surface.
The product is vapour permeable and, once the performance properties have been achieved, resistant to frost and the effects of water. SimpleBAU BETONKONTAKT has thixotropic properties – it does not flow off vertical surfaces.
SCOPE OF APPLICATION
SimpleBAU CONTACT PRIMER is recommended for use on smooth concrete surfaces or non-absorbent materials such as ceramic and stone tiles. This preparation can be used on masonry surfaces, appropriately prepared and stabilised wood, wood-based materials, chipboard, OSB, gypsum fibre, gypsum and cement boards as well as on porous, reinforced concrete, gypsum and lime plasters.
It is recommended as a primer for surfaces under all types of water barriers.
SimpleBAU BETON KONTAKT is suitable:
- for indoor and outdoor use,
- as primer when using levelling, repair and self-levelling screeds, concrete screeds, adhesives, plaster,
- for vertical and horizontal surfaces,
- for underfloor heating.
PREPARATION OF THE SUBSTRATE
The primed surface should be dry, solid, free from dust and loose particles, oils, greases, old and loose coatings as well as adhesion-reducing layers. Loose layers not bonded to the substrate must be removed before applying the primer. Cement and gypsum substrates must be bonded and dry.
PROCESSING
Before use, apply the primer SimpleBAU BETONKONTAKT Mix thoroughly until a homogeneous consistency is achieved. The primer is ready for use. Do not dilute with water or other materials.
Apply product evenly over the entire surface with a tassel, roller or by spraying. The priming process should be carried out at an ambient and substrate temperature of +5° to +25° C. The drying time of one coat is at least 12 hours.*
After priming, rinse tools and any dirt with water. Remove dried-out soiling with solvent.
When working outdoors, protect the primed surface from direct sunlight, rain and frost.
* at a temperature of 23°C and 60% relative humidity
