PROPERTIES
SimpleBAU FLEXIBLE SEALING MORTAR F2 is a two-component sealing mortar and is used to protect the substrate from water and moisture. The mortar is vapour permeable, environmentally friendly, contains no solvents. It is resistant to frost and ageing. The product has an increased UV resistance. It is characterised by very good adhesion to the substrate and resistance to water penetration.
SimpleBAU F2 is used to bridge cracks and crevices in the substrate. In conjunction with sealing tapes, it is used to permanently secure corners, expansion joints and pipe connections.
SCOPE OF APPLICATION
SimpleBAU FLEXIBLE SEALING MORTAR F2 is used for the execution of water barriers on terraces, balconies, bathrooms, laundry rooms, swimming pools, sanitary facilities, garden ponds, industrial water storage tanks with additional use of glass fibre fabric (sealing tapes and sleeves) and for sealing basement walls and foundations.
SimpleBAU FLEXIBLE SEALING MORTAR F2 can be used on standard building substrates such as concrete, gypsum, screed, cement plaster, lime-cement plaster, plasterboard, anhydrite and cement screed as well as on old tiles, wood-like substrates and floors with underfloor heating.
SimpleBAU FLEXIBLE SEALING MORTAR F2 is suitable for use in interior and exterior areas of buildings.
PREPARATION OF THE SUBSTRATE
The substrate should be solid, load-bearing, dry, free of impurities (i.e. dust, dirt, oil, wax, paint residues, salt efflorescence, etc.). New plaster and concrete should be matured, bonded and free of grease residues. Old ceramic tiles should be cleaned of weakly adhering particles.
Very absorbent surfaces can be primed with simpleBau special primer ULTRA or with simpleBAU Deep-penetrating, small-molecule primer.
PROCESSING
Before application, mix the product thoroughly mechanically or by hand, do not dilute.
The components in the collective pack of SimpleBAU FLEXIBLE SEALING MORTAR were supplied in ready-to-use proportions.
The preparation of the two-component sealing mortar is done by mixing both components – for this purpose, component A should be added to liquid component B. Mix both components using a low-speed mixer until a homogeneous consistency is achieved. Allow the mortar to stand for approx. 5 minutes and mix again. The prepared mass should be processed within one hour from preparation.
Do not mix the product with other materials (e.g. water, cement, aggregates)!
The prepared product SimpleBAU FLEXIBLE SEALING MORTAR F2 should be applied in at least two coats.
First seal the expansion joints, corner profiles, pipe penetrations, drain grates with the use of special tape, sealing corners or sealing collars. Press the edges of these elements into the sealant.
The sealing mortar should be applied evenly over the entire surface with a hard-bristled tassel, painting brush or steel trowel and rubbed intensively into the substrate. The subsequent layer after the first layer has set, i.e. apply after approx. 4 hours. Reinforce areas that are exposed to heavy loads by embedding glass fibre fabric.
The layer thickness of the first layer must be at least 1mm and the final layer thickness must not be less than 2mm.
The freshly laid layer must be protected from rain and water exposure for the first 24 hours. Protect the applied layer from drying out too quickly.
Clean tools with water after use. Cured mortar can only be removed mechanically.
